4 Different ways to Loop YouTube Videos

4 Different ways to Loop YouTube Videos.

Open computer. Headphones in. Sign in. Start writing with YouTube playing in the next tab. This is my daily routine, background noise merges with the music, and I focus better. Usually it does, but sometimes one song gets stuck in my head and I have to listen to it on repeat until I can’t take it anymore. I know it sounds crazy, but I am, and hitting the play button every time drives me even more crazy. There must be a better way to scroll through YouTube videos and I found four. The methods shown below will let you loop the video once without your input. Let’s go.

Method 1: Use the original option

Good for – looping YouTube videos natively

This method has always been in plain sight, and for some reason I ignored it or did not even bother to look at it until recently. YouTube offers a loop function in the player itself on the webpage. Let’s see how it works.

  • Start YouTube on your computer.
  • Play any video you want to loop through.
  • Right-click anywhere in the video player.
  • You will see a list of parameters and a loop right there.
  • Click on the loop and you’re done, now the video will play endlessly.

It also works on your smartphones

Guess you can also activate this feature on your smartphones, but it may not work on all devices and browsers. I used the Chrome browser on my Android device and iPhone to test this feature and it only worked on Android. (for iPhone, you can download Safari)

  • Open Chrome on your phone and go to m.youtube.com.
  • Click on the three dots at the top and select “Request website for PC”.
  • Play the video of your choice.
  • Press and hold for a list of options, press cycle.
  • The video will now play in a loop on your phone.

Pros: simple and native, support for background playback on smartphones.

Cons: Little can be done, limited options.

Method 2: Use the playlist

Good for – Looping multiple YouTube videos

Okay, this is a little weird, I use music on my phone, and rarely when I disable this feature, repeat. My playlist was always in random order. When I switched to YouTube as my main music source, I never thought that this button also exists here. You can use this button to loop multiple videos, but that does not mean that it will loop each video separately, but the entire playlist.

  • Create a new playlist.
  • Add songs to the playlist that you want to repeat by clicking the + button.
  • When you’re done, start a playlist and hit the repeat button.
  • Your playlist will constantly repeat itself and work on both desktop and mobile devices.

Pros: Looping multiple YouTube videos, works on both computer and mobile.

Cons: extra steps

Method 3: Using third-party websites and apps

Good for – when you often loop YouTube videos

Now I understand that the playlist function is not for everyone, and the inline loop function does nothing but loop the entire video. This method is slightly longer than the first, but has several additional advantages. There are websites that have one goal of looping YouTube videos, and on top of that, you get a time-lapse feature with which you can loop parts of a video instead of looping the entire song. I found it best to “listen on repeat” for this. Of course, there are many websites that do the same job, but it’s all about preference and simplicity.

  • Search your computer for the YouTube video you want to repeat.
  • In the URL, add a repeat between YouTube and period.
  • For example, https: // www.youtuberepeat.com/watch?v=t8kml1bMAd0
  • Press Enter.

This will redirect you to listen on a repeating website and play the video in an endless loop. Now, right below the video player, there is a slider with which you can adjust the length of the video and even play a section from the video loop.

4 Different ways to Loop YouTube Videos

If you are using your phone to watch YouTube and want to loop videos, install Musepic (Android) or LoopTube (iOS) and paste the link to loop the video.

Pros: you can loop certain parts in a loop, no mess

Cons: You have to rely on third party websites and sometimes you get ads too

Fourth method: use a chrome extension

Good For – Loops a specific part of a YouTube video

Third party sites are cheap to build, but they do the job, you don’t have to compromise on aesthetics, just to loop the video, there must be a better way. The video looping Chrome extensions work decently, keeping the original YouTube aesthetic and giving you additional looping options right on the YouTube website. In this method, we are using the youtube chrome extension looper.

  • Click the YouTube Looper or search the YouTube Looper in the Chrome Store.
  • Install it in Chrome browser and restart the browser.
  • Now, for each video you play, you will get the loop parameters below it.
  • Adjust the length of the video you want to loop

Pros: Retains its own layout and preserves aesthetics, no need to leave the YouTube player.

Cons: Chrome extensions eat up resources

What is the best way to duplicate Youtube videos?

We all love listening to songs on repeat, and we’ve shown you four different ways to do it. I personally like the Youtube extension because I can stay on the original website and make changes. The first method is best for people who don’t want to make changes to their web page or navigate to another website. If you use your phone a lot, I suggest you try apps that work great on mobile devices, and sometimes even better than websites. Tell us what is your favorite way to scroll through YouTube videos in the comments.
