1. Find the WiFi password from the connected devices
If any computer or Android smartphone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network, you can retrieve the Wi-Fi password by going to its network settings. However, this is easier to do on a computer than on a smartphone.
Windows
On a Windows computer, go to Network and Sharing Center click the Wi-Fi name a new window will open, select the wireless property security show password. 2. Find the Wi-Fi password from your router
This is the most popular method and I often use it to find my home Wi-Fi’s Wi-Fi password when I can’t remember it. However, this is a bit technical and you at least have an idea of ​​the router’s web interface. But the good news is that it works when the above method doesn’t work.
Now, if you don’t have any devices connected to your Wi-Fi network, connect your computer to your router via an Ethernet cable. Then open any web browser and enter the router’s IP address in the browser’s omnibox. Usually the router’s IP address is 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1. However, if you don’t remember the IP address of the router, you can start a terminal and type ipconfig, the default gateway you see is the IP address of the router.
Enter the IP address of this router in your browser and press Enter. Then enter the username and password of the router. Again, this is usually admin and admin or admin and password, but if you know what this is, contact the person who set up your network. Unlike the IP address of a router, if you forget it, you cannot find out its username and password.
Now that you are in the web interface of the router, look for the Wireless option. Each router has its own user interface, but the basic one remains the same, look for the option labeled Wireless, SSID, Security, etc. There you will find your Wi-Fi password.

3. Connect to your router with WPS
This method is a little less well known, but if your router supports WPS, you can connect to it by pressing the small WPS button on the back of the router. No need to enter Wi-Fi password. And once you are connected to the Wi-Fi network, you can use the above methods to find the Wi-Fi password.
So how exactly does WPS work? Well, WPS is short for Wi-Fi Protected Setup. This is a protocol invented by the Wi-Fi Alliance – a non-profit organization that has certified all WiFi protocols. WPS is useful for devices that do not have an interface where you can enter the WiFi password. For example, your wireless printer, Wi-Fi repeater, etc.
When you press the WPS button on the router and Android smartphone at the same time, the router automatically transmits the Wi-Fi password over the wireless network and connects the device to the router without having to enter the WiFi password. 4. Reset your router
Now, to reboot the router, press and hold the small reset button on the back of the router. On some routers, the reset button can only be pressed with a pin or ballpoint pen. So, press the reset button until you see all the lights on your router blinking. This will reset the router to its factory default settings.
Now you will see the new WiFi name with your router model number like TP-Link w8908 etc. Connect to it and enter the pin code printed on the back of your router or (sometimes it is printed on the router box) to enter the password. and once you see the router interface, you can set a new Wi-Fi password.
Note. Resetting your router to factory defaults should be your last resort. Consider this only if none of the above methods work, because you will need to change the Internet settings provided by your ISP. On most routers, you can follow the quick setup guide and enter the username and password provided by your ISP. You can also call your internet service provider and ask them for help. Most routers have a remote management feature that allows your ISP to remotely access your router and do all the setup from their office.
