6 Best Image Search Engines 2022.6 Cool Search Engines to Search for Faces.
I wonder if there are people like you? You can use face search to find similar faces. Facial recognition technology can also help you find online profiles based on camera or video footage.
Luckily, you don’t need any expensive reverse image search software. Search engines can do a lot of cool things for you, from identifying phone numbers to looking for duplicates. You can use a face recognition search engine to scan the internet for similar faces. However, if you have never heard of a face search engine, we will tell you which ones you can use.
1. Google Images Search
Google is a powerful search engine that will help you find just about anything you want. The most popular search engine you can use to find faces (or similar images) is the Google Images search engine. This is the same as the normal use of Google, but instead of performing a search query by pasting text, you are uploading an image.
To use Google Image Reverse Search, go to Google Images.
Select the camera icon at the right end of the search bar.
You can either paste the image URL or download the image to your computer. Then click the Search by Image button.
Once an image is uploaded, Google will try to find similar images or look-alikes. However, Google also offers facial recognition in the Google Photos app. You can’t use the Photos app to find doubles, but you can find photos of a person or even a pet store on your iOS or Android device or in the cloud.
2. Yandex
Yandex is equivalent to Google in Russia, but not very popular in other countries. It works almost the same as Google, even in terms of finding faces. I did a face image search on Yandex and, to my surprise, the results were more accurate than Google.
Go to Yandex.Images.
Select the camera icon in the right corner of the search bar.
As with Google image search, you will have the option to search for an image by pasting a URL or uploading a file.
3. PicTriev: Celebrity Face Search
If you want to find your celebrity lookalikes, use PicTriev so you don’t have to look through countless other social media selfies of people just like you. PicTriev is an image search engine designed for the sole purpose of finding celebrities who look like you. Unlike Google and Yandex, it does not have other search tools.
However, there is a meter in the PicTriev algorithm that tries to determine how masculine or feminine a person in a photo looks and estimates their age. You need a jpeg image with a maximum size of 200 KB to perform the search.
Go to PicTriev.
There is no search bar like in Google or Yandex. The image upload options are in the middle of the screen. Click the “Upload Image” button or enter the image’s URL. Next, select Search.
PicTriev will use its search technology and provide you with a list of 10 celebrity look-alikes. If you don’t know who the celebrity is, click on the image and you will be taken to their Wikipedia page. In addition, the facial recognition search engine shows how masculine or feminine your face looks in a photo and estimates your age.
4. Betaface
Betaface is similar to PicTriev. As with all facial recognition search engines, you upload a photo of yourself or paste in an image URL. The search engine will then try to identify similar photos based on the characteristics of your face.
You can compare faces if you want to see other images you’ve uploaded, find celebrity look-alikes, or browse Wikipedia for faces similar to yours.
Go to Betaface.
Click the Custom Download button or enter a URL.
Then click the Start Discovery button.
Scroll down and select the image you have uploaded. Then select one of the options depending on whether you want to compare faces, search for celebrities, or search Wikipedia.
By doing this, you will see the search results at the bottom of the page.
5. Bing Image Search
Bing is Microsoft’s search engine and one of Google’s biggest competitors. It has a lot of features, and it also has a reverse face search that you can use to find similar photos online. Like Google, Bing doesn’t show matches, only similar photos.
However, unlike Google, Bing only shows related photos and not similar image URLs. Also, Bing doesn’t find as many results as Google.
Navigate to Bing images. Start by selecting the camera icon to the right of the Bing search bar. You can upload an image, take a photo with the camera, or paste the URL of the image.
You will see the results appear automatically.
6. TinEye
TinEye is a no-fuss reverse image search engine. It works more or less the same as every other tool on the list.
However, it only looks for matching images, not similar photos. This makes TinEye a great tool if you’re looking for your images being used elsewhere on the web without your permission, or if you suspect a scammer is using your image to deceive others.
To find similar photos, click the Upload button and upload an image or paste the image URL.
Don’t be surprised if you know your image is being used somewhere and TinEye can’t find it. TinEye states on its FAQ page that it cannot crawl multiple websites. TinEye is not the most efficient tool, but it does the job.
Run a Face Search for Fun
The websites listed here work well and are free. However, if you want something more powerful, consider using a tool like PimEyes. However, in most cases, you won’t need a paid or powerful tool, especially if you’re just killing time.
Even if you don’t suspect a scam, a face search can be a good way to kill a few minutes. It is interesting to know who else has the same face as you. If you end up finding your name on unwanted websites, you can have your name removed from those websites.
