Some people do not think about how secure their passwords are until a hacker gets their valuable personal information. Don’t wait for this to happen. Make sure your data is secure and your passwords are as complex as possible.
However, coming up with lots of random, complex passwords can also backfire when you just can’t remember them all. So how do you ensure maximum security and keep all your important data safe? We have some good password tools for you to look into.
Use a password manager
One of the less complicated ways to ensure maximum security is to use a password manager. Apps like LastPass, 1Password and Dashlane will take over the job. You just need to come up with one strong password for your password manager account and the program will take care of the rest.
Password Manager will generate strong passwords for each account you choose to connect to. They will all be encrypted and stored in the software, making it difficult for hackers to access. Sounds like a handy tool, but not 100% safe.
Password managers are not without their flaws, and we don’t recommend trusting them for things like your finances, email, or other accounts with your personal information. Use a password manager for random sites that require registration. For this additional security, use one of the following tools instead.
Safe Password Generator
The secure password generator is a great tool for both creating complex passphrases and memorizing them. Moreover, this site is extremely easy to use. You have complete control over the combination of characters that will be used in your password. You can include or exclude certain characters. For example, those that are too similar and difficult to remember, such as o, 0 and O.

For added security, you can check the DO NOT send over the Internet option and instead generate a password on your device. After you receive a suitable passphrase, Secure Password Generator will offer you a way to remember it in the “Remember password” section.
The strong password generator
Strong Password Generator is another site to help you take your security to the next level. Similar to the previous tool, the strong password generator will create a complex password for you that is difficult to crack and provide you with ways to remember it.
The web application uses five basic rules to create a strong password: a minimum of 15 characters, a mix of numbers, uppercase and lowercase letters, and symbols. You can set your own requirements using advanced settings. For example, you can include punctuation marks (!, “, $, Etc.) in your code, or exclude similar characters (such as o, 0, and O).
The site will then show you various ways to remember the new password (see screenshot above). Or you can use a phonetic word generator that will give you a complete phrase to help you remember your password. All methods are approved and recommended by safety experts.
Corrected basic horse battery
Still disagreeing with the idea of ??using a string of random characters to protect your most valuable data from hackers? How about a string of random words?
The idea of ??using a long, odd-word phrase as a password is illustrated in the XKCD webcomic. It’s harder to break and easier to remember. Correct Horse Battery Staple app helps you come up with this phrase.
The web app is named after a random word combination used in the comic. This password generator will also provide you with several options to customize your passphrase. You can set the number of words used in the password, the minimum character length, whether you want to use delimiters between words, and so on.
Once you get the passphrase you want, use a comic book trick and think of a scene or situation that will help you remember the words used in your password. Thus, you will take full advantage of the XKCD method.
Password Meter
That’s right, you’ve created a (presumably) very strong password. But this is not always enough. Another way to make sure your data doesn’t get online is to check the strength of your new password using Password Meter
Password Meter will verify your password against a number of parameters and assign it a security rating based on the test results. You can see both the minimum and additional requirements for a strong password on the site. On each of the indicators, you will find a symbol that indicates whether your password meets these requirements, meets them or not.
For example, using repeating characters or sequential lowercase letters lowers your score, while using numbers increases value. Use Password Meter to identify the weak link in your password and fix it.
Update your card
Now that you have come up with the strongest password possible and verified it against all security metrics, it’s time to update your accounts on different websites.
But finding a page to reset your password can be more difficult than it should be. You often have to search in settings or use the Forgot your password link to get to it. Browse dozens of different websites and pick the ones you use. Now all you have to do is click the link, change your password, and proceed to the next service. You can create your own favorites using the Save This Website and Delete This Website buttons at the bottom of the screen. This list will be saved the next time you decide to change your passwords.
