Pinterest is a great site for bookmarking hidden gems of content, but it’s not always the most convenient app to use when you’re browsing the web and see something worth sharing or collecting for later.

If you use the Google Chrome browser, you can find a large selection of Pinterest plug-ins (known as browser extensions) in the Chrome Web Store. If you’re not a Chrome user, many of these extensions can also be found in the Microsoft Edge, Apple Safari, and Mozilla Firefox extension stores.
Finding and Installing Chrome Extensions
All of the Pinterest Chrome extensions we highlight here can be found in the Chrome Web Store. You can use the direct link we provided, or you can search for each extension on the storefront.
You need to be logged into both the browser and the online store with your Google account in order to add the extension to your browser. Click the “Add to Chrome” button and the extension will be added to your browser.

Like most websites that you can use for free, Pinterest uses ads to make money. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with this, but sometimes promoted pins can seem to get in the way of the content you’re actually looking for.
That’s why Promoted Pin Hider is such a handy extension. It doesn’t actually block these Pins, but hides them so you only see the real Pins, not the ones that have been promoted through the payment scheme.
6. Image Downloader
Many of us enjoy browsing Pinterest so we can upload cool community-selected images, but Pinterest doesn’t make it easy to upload images or get the best quality version hosted on the site.
Image Downloader is an extension that works with multiple websites including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest. The extension shows you thumbnails for every image it finds on the web page, even the hidden ones. You can quickly select the images you want to download, or just download everything in batches. It’s much faster than right-clicking each image to download it.

Tailwind offers tools aimed at bloggers, brick-and-mortar stores, influencers, service providers, and a few other categories of users. You can schedule and automate posts on Pinterest, Facebook, and Instagram.
The free tier of the service includes managing one profile for each of the three platforms. However, you are limited to 20 posts in all of them per month and only have basic analytics and 20 post designs to choose from. Once you upgrade to one of the paid tiers, these limits become much less.

It’s a somewhat silly Chrome extension, but it turns out that if you’re looking for inspiration for new Pinterest boards, this simple name generator has exactly what you need. Each time you click the button, the extension will show you another random board name. AutoPinner will literally save you dozens of hours every month. The service lets you get started for free, but if you really need to do heavy social media duties on Pinterest, you’ll no doubt want to take a look at their paid options.
17. Photo Zoom
Unfortunately, the popular Pinterest Photo Expander extension is no more, but this easy-to-use Photo Zoom extension does pretty much the same thing. After installing the extension, all you have to do is hover your mouse over the thumbnail on Pinterest (or Facebook and Instagram) and the program will instantly fetch the HD version of the image and display it for you.
Combined with an extensive set of hotkeys, Photo Zoom can make your Pinterest browsing and image collection much more efficient.
