1 – Texas Instruments TI-30XA Solar School Edition Calculator
Top Reviews
Our middle school requires the SOLAR edition, as it doesn’t have the fraction button & one other (bottom 2 left buttons). Personally I hate solar calculators as there is no way to turn them off & may not work if in poor lighting. This appears to be working fine, it is what it is. My issue is the calculator arrived wrapped in bubble wrap in a bubble package. NO factory package, no UPC, etc. There is no way to tell if this item is used or new. Would send it back, but can’t find it elsewhere .
While I did receive a Solar Calculator, it does not have the functions shown in the graphic. There are no fraction or backspace keys which the picture clearly shows. That was the reason I purchased this Solar version of the TI-30Xa. My calculator is also a TI-30Xa NON Solar version and I ordered this one to ensure I’d never run out of power in the middle of a test. This calculator is TOTALLY useless to me.Also, there was no retail box, just packed in a bubble wrap pouch, apparently a bulk purchase as there are no instructions other than the small card on the inside of the calculator’s cover. .
Amazon asks for reviews about things purchased that may or may not have been used yet. I do not yet know how to use this graphing calculator. I needed it for a college-level statistics class. .
Does not have several functions that this calculator should. Does not have the fraction to decimal convert button that I needed. This is a knock off verson of the ti 30. .

2 – Case Compatible with Texas Instruments TI-36X Pro Engineering/Scientific Calculator (Dark Gray)

If you have a satchel or backpack that you carry your calculator in, there is always a chance that it will be mashed if you drop your backpack or handle it carelessly. That is where this case comes in. It is very roomy. (My TI-30 calculator easily fits on one side.) Its hard-sided with cushioning inside. Opposite the side where the calculator is, there is plenty of space for pens, pencils, hand sanitizer, glasses and a pad of stick-ups. It looks pleasant, but plain. It fits fine in my satchel, but I can see where it could be rather bulky for a slim brief case. If you want to keep your calculator, phone, or other small instrument safe, this case will serve you well. .
the color is just as pictured. the zipper works fine. the outer hard shell is what made me purchase this item. it can hold all your necessary pens and pencil you need. I am a college student and I made the mistake of taking algebra so I carry a notebook and just this case to class. I use this four days a week unzipping and zipping, zipper is holding up to just no issues. .
Very good item love using it for school .
The product is smooth and the inside storage is handy for pens, pencils, etc. My TI-36X Pro fits well in there but the product is a little thick so there is some extra space that I personally don’t need but others might. .

3 – Comix Desktop Calculator, Large Computer Keys, 12 Digits Display, Champaign Gold Color Panel, C-2735

This calculator is awesome! It is BIG and very much like a regular 10 key. As an accountant I really like having a 10 key-like calculator without the cord and without the cost of a “real” battery operated 10 key. It’s not completely exactly like a true 10 key, but very close. Oh, one important point ALL THE WORDS/INSTRUCTIONS ARE IN CHINESE. If you think you need instructions to use this, then don’t buy this one. But if you are used to using a calculator, you’ll do fine. 🙂 .
When my old corded TI calculator decided after several decades that it wanted to do operations of its own, I began looking around for one with the old school keyboard layout (because I’m old). It has some features my old TI calculator didn’t. For instance, there is a slider that lets you select whether to round up, down or just cut off the extra digit(s). There is also a mark-up/down key. Apparently, these and other features are common on the newer calculators, but they were new to me. The screen is fairly good for a solar powered unit. It would be nice if its angle could be adjusted, but the numbers are large enough that the calculator can be placed so they can be easily read. What I especially like is that the keys have some travel. There is no guessing whether you pushed the key or not. What I don’t like about this unit is that functions solely as a calculator and not as an adding machine with some calculator features. The default data entry position is that all numbers are positive. To enter a negative number, the minus sign must be entered first prior to the number. That’s great, if all you are working with are equations. This entry logic is awful if you are trying to add up a long column of positive and negative numbers. I don’t understand why there can’t be on an otherwise great little machine a slider switch that would enable data entry to use adding machine arithmetic logic. How much can a small switch and some additional programming logic add to the unit’s cost?Looking around for calculators that can be used as adding machines, I found that Sharp has a number of paper tapeless units. The downside is that they cost over twice as much. That said, if you do not routinely add columns of numbers, for under $20 you can’t go wrong. .
Finally a calculator with buttons that work! .
bought it for my dad, he likes it, numbers are big and his big ol’ sausage fingers can push the buttons without hitting ones next to the one he wants to press. seems great .
