Microsoft Office lets you use any font you like in your documents. However, it does not save the font settings when you close these Office programs. Then you will need to choose your preferred font every time you create a new document.

If you tend to use a specific font in your Office documents, we recommend that you set that font as the default font in all Office applications. There are ways to change the default font in various applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Setting the default font in Microsoft Word is quite simple, and you don’t need to edit configuration files to do this.

  1. Start Microsoft Word

  1. Click the Blank Document option in the right pane to create a new document.

  1. On the document editing screen, click the arrow icon in the font section to open the font settings menu.

  1. You can now select your preferred font that you want to set as the default font. Use the drop-down menus to customize your own style for your font. Then click the “Set as default” button at the bottom.
