How to Change Your Mouse Cursor in Chromebook.

Chromebooks come with a standard pointer cursor, but if you’re looking for something more immersive, you can easily change the color, size of the cursor, or even replace it with your own images, either as they are or using third-party apps. Let’s start.

First method – change the indicator from the settings

You can do basic customization, such as changing the cursor size, color, or even circle color using Chromebook built-in settings. To change them, you can open your Chromebook’s settings.

Now you can find the Accessibility Management option. Click on it and under the mouse and trackpad section you can find options to change the cursor size, color, and also add a ring around it so it can be easily seen.

You can also go to Settings Device Touchpad and change settings such as pointer speed, allow tap to tap, tap to drag, etc. But other than that, you don’t have much to do with the built-in settings. …

The second method – changing the indicators using third-party extensions

There are many Chrome extensions that can change the look of your cursor using a variety of predefined cursor options, and some extensions even offer you to download your own cursor. But there is one catch: these third-party cursors don’t work in Android and Linux apps. Therefore, whenever you hover over these applications, your cursor becomes a regular standard cursor.

However, here are some of the best extensions that work flawlessly on Chromebooks.

Indicator dedicated to chrome

Among all the cursor customization extensions, Custom Cursor for Chrome has more predefined cursors, from Thor’s hand cursor to Airpods cursor. It even lets you upload your own image. For each selected cursor, you can find two pointers, one of which is a regular pointer and the other is the pointer that you get when you hover over any link. By default, cursors look very large, but you can easily resize or even rotate them a little. With over 2 million users, Custom Cursor is undoubtedly the most popular cursor extension available for Chrome and therefore Chromebook.

My indicator

My cursor is similar to Custom Cursor, but one key difference is the library. The Custom Cursor has cursors that represent a brand or movie character, whereas My cursor has a ton of cursors that look more like different emoji. And you can also load your cursor if you like. But you have to wait at least a minute or two for the selected cursor to apply, making it difficult to select a cursor to test. My cursor also has one cursor image, so when you click on any link, you are taken to your default manual cursor, which is the default on Chromebook.

Highlight it

Highlight is not a fully customizable cursor, but you can use it to highlight text on the web, just like with a highlighter. In fact, your cursor also looks like a marker. The best part is that the extension remembers your marked text, so you can close and reopen any page, and the important text you marked will not be lost. Therefore, if you are a student, this extension can be useful for using the Internet as a textbook. In any case, you need to activate it every time you visit any page, as it is for a custom cursor, but for a tool like a marker.

Conclusion

There are even a few extensions like Amazing Custom Cursor, Change Cursor, Cute Cursor, etc. that work great and have a unique cursors library you can check out. In any case, these third party cursors do not work with Android and Linux apps as they run in their own container and have their own settings.
