How to Change Your Online ID on PS4.
I created my PS4 Online ID by accident, not knowing that you can’t change it later. I can’t even count how many times I’ve been teased for a stupid username on the Internet. Luckily, last week Sony decided to give you the option to change your online ID, which is great news because instead of getting stuck with a sharp teen ID, I can now have a regular one. Let’s take a look at how to change your Online ID on PS4.
Changing your online ID on PSN is a risky business, and one of the reasons Sony decided to release this feature so late is because changing the online ID affects more than just your profile. This can affect your online performance in various online multiplayer games, and can result in the loss of achievements and data. Games developed after April 1, 2018 are expected to support the Online ID Change feature, but Sony accepts no responsibility for data loss if you decide to change your Online ID.

Issues
Sony has conducted extensive testing to find any games that could be affected by an online ID change. They have mentioned all the issues on their website, from minimal to critical. There were no major issues in most games, and changing the online ID did not affect your data.
Games are divided into three categories; Games with no known issues, Games with known issues, and Games with critical issues. Most games have no issues, but you can check the list to see if any of your games fall into the critical issue category.
Now let’s change your PSN Online ID. You can do this on your computer or PS4, both methods are simple and only take a few minutes. The first time you change your Online ID, it will be done for free, but after that Sony will charge you a flat $ 9.99 fee each time you change your Online ID. PlayStation Plus users get a flat 50% discount on these transactions and will pay $ 4.99 for each ID change after the first.

Select an Online ID from the list of options.
Before you can choose a new ID, it will ask you to enter your credentials again. Enter your PSN account ID and password in the appropriate fields and click OK.
It will show you a warning page that has everything that can happen if you decide to change your Online ID. Click “I Accept” to continue.
Enter your new online ID and press R2 to minimize the onscreen keyboard. If you see a check mark next to the online ID field, your new ID is available and you can request it. If an X appears next to the input field, try a different identifier.
You can also see the cost of the new online ID at the bottom. Since I changed the ID for the first time, it was free. Click “Confirm†and proceed to the next step.
Naturally, when you change your online ID, people will no longer be able to contact you or find you using your old online ID. To fix this, Sony gives you the option to choose from two layouts shown below. The option on the left will show the new online ID along with the old ID in brackets so that people can easily recognize you online. If you do not want your old ID to be displayed on your profile, select the configuration on the right and click Submit to complete.
Change your internet id from computer
As with the console, changing your Online ID is very easy and you can also do it from your computer. To get started, head over to playstation.com and click the sign in button to sign in to your PSN account. Enter your PSN account information and click the Sign In button.
On the home page, you will find your avatar image in the upper right corner of the web page, click the image to open the drop-down menu, and select Account Settings.
This is your profile page, and from here you can manage almost everything. You can view basic account information, change security features, add two-step verification, add family members, change online ID, and more. Click PSN Profile in the list of options on the left.
You can see your current Online ID and the Change button next to it. Click the “Change” button to start the process of changing the online ID.
It will show you an information page with all the warnings and possible losses that can occur due to a change in the online ID. Click “I Accept” to continue.
Enter your desired username in the input field and click the Check Availability button to check if the username is available. If it’s a website, you’ll be taken to a confirmation page, otherwise you’ll have to choose a different username that hasn’t been claimed yet.
After choosing a username, you will be taken to the checkout page and show the cost of the purchase you are about to make. Your first online ID change is free, and the message “Your first change is free!†Is displayed below the crossed out amount. Click the “Confirm” button to apply and change your Online ID. Your Online ID has been changed and it will immediately reflect on your account.
Revert to the oldest internet id
If you ever want to go back to your previous online ID, you can do it for free. The only caveat is that this cannot be done on PS4 or computer. Only Sony executives can do this, and you can call their customer service department to return it. The customer service contact number may differ from country to country. If you have a support number, you can call them directly. To find your customer support number, follow these steps.
To return to your old online ID, log in to your account and click the Help button. Type “Recover Online ID” in the search bar and press Enter to display the search results.
Select any of the results that appear, scroll down and find the Call Us button. By clicking on it, you will see the support number for your country. Call them and ask them to return your Online ID. The changes will be reflected immediately.
