On most Android devices, Google Play and its services tend to be the main source of problems. You’ve probably figured this out if you’ve been using an Android phone for a while. Some of these issues prevent you from downloading new apps, while others cause problems with playing music on Google Play.

Below are some common problems you may encounter on Google Play on your devices and how to fix them.

Reboot device

When an issue such as stopping Google Play services occurs, the first and simplest thing you should try is to restart your device. A reboot fixes a lot of common minor glitches and issues on your phone, and you should give it a try.

When your phone boots up, you won’t have any more problems.

Update the Play Store app

Like your other apps, the Google Play Store app also needs to be updated for optimal error-free performance. In most cases, the application installs updates by itself. However, you can run a manual check for updates and see if there are any updates that need to be installed.

  1. Launch the Google Play Store app on your device.
  2. Click on the hamburger in the upper left corner and select “Settings”.

  1. Click on the Play Store version to find and install updates.

A possible reason you’re having a white screen issue on the Google Play Store is because your Wi-Fi or cellular data plan isn’t working as expected. The Play Store cannot download any data, so it has no choice but to show a white screen.

You can fix this by changing your internet connection environment.

  1. If you are currently using a cellular network, turn off the Mobile Data setting in Action Center and use Wi-Fi instead.
