How to get HBO Max Outside US on Android and iOS.
HBO is expanding its portfolio, and with the recent launch of HBO Max at $ 15 a month, it has surpassed its content that was previously available with HBO Now and HBO Go. Along with all the unique content, it now also has originals like Westworld, Watchmen, Veep and Curb Your Enthusiasm, etc. The library also contains all the Harry Potter movies, the Lord of the Rings trilogy, and exclusive rights to the entire season of Friends.
However, there is one catch. It is only available in the US. While you can use a VPN to bypass geographic restrictions, you still need a US credit card to sign up. But I have a workaround to use it even without American credit cards or even gift cards.
Before we start
To get HBO Max outside of the US, you’ll need an Android smartphone. If you don’t have an Android phone, you can also use an Android emulator like Nox player on your computer. Once you’ve created a new HBO max account on your Android phone, you can use your iOS and web login credentials. We’ll show you how to do this at the end of the article. So let’s get started.
How to get HBO Max outside the US
Step 1. Take your phone and try searching for HBO Max in the Play Store or App Store. If you don’t see it in the results, you might want to change the country, which is possible in both stores. However, keep in mind that changing the country may stop your existing subscription. We recommend creating a new US registered account and switching accounts in the App Store to download the app.
In addition, on Android, you also have the option to download the APK of HBO Max. Just download the app, click OK if you see a prompt, and install the app.
Step 2: Now install and open the app. You will notice that when you try to open the application, you receive an error message: “The service is not available in your country.”
Step 3. Don’t worry, an easy way to get around this error is to open the application through a server in the US. To do this, open the VPN app. I use the Smart DNS Proxy VPN app, choose a server in the US and connect to the VPN. Any good VPN should work, though.
Note. You may need to match your phone time with the US time. To do this, go to your phone settings and set your time zone to New York. Also disable Automatic Time Correction.
You only need to adjust the time the first time you set up your account. However, in my case, there was no need to adjust the time.
Step 4. Now launch the HBO Max app and there are tons of shows waiting for you. Well, you can’t watch them yet. Click the “Account” icon in the lower right corner to go to the “Start Free Trial” page. All you have to do is follow the instructions and create an HBO Mox account.
Step 5. After completing the account setup, you will be prompted to “Start with a Free Trial”. Use your Google Pay account for this step, as the app does not identify the payee outside the US. A certain amount will be deducted for authentication, which will later be refunded. Now add your credit card information.
Wait for the process, click “Let’s go” and you’re done. Just manage your account and add profiles if you like and you can start streaming right away.
The app might be causing problems or displaying a login error. Don’t worry, just clear your cache, cookies, and app history, then launch the app again after connecting to a US server using the VPN app.
How to log in on iOS
As with iOS, if you search for HBO max in your app store, you won’t find any results. Follow the instructions to fix this.
Step 1. Go to iPhone account settings and change the country to USA. Remember that if you do this, your existing subscription will be canceled, so create a new account if you don’t want to. When changing the country in the App Store, make sure you set the payment to No, otherwise you will need a US credit card.
Step 2: Now go back to the App Store and search for HBO Max, this time you will find it. Then everything is simple.
Step 3. Just start a VPN with a server in the US, log in with the HBO max credentials you got from your Android smartphone and watch your favorite shows.
What platforms can you watch on?
If you have Android login credentials, you can use them to watch HBO Max on almost any device with a web browser, whether it’s your Mac or Windows computer.
If you want to watch it on Play Station 4 or Xbox, we have that too. You can set up a Smart DNS proxy on your router and enjoy HBO Max after you beat your best friend in a soccer match.
However, due to distribution rights, HBO max is still not available on the two main streaming devices – Firestick and Roku. We will let you know when the deal is complete.
