How to Get iOS like Magnify Markup on Android.
In iOS 13, Apple provides a built-in option to enlarge a portion of your photos or screenshots. It really helps if you want to highlight a part or face in an image without cropping the entire image. I was looking for an analog of the same type for Android, but to my disappointment, I didn’t find a good enough native one (see you OneUI).
So, when there is no built-in option, we turn to third-party apps for taking screenshots. With that said, here’s how you magnify details in screenshots and photos on Android.
Zoom in on details on Android
1. First of all, download and install Screen Master on your Android device.
2. Once you open the app, it will ask you for storage permission to access your files. Click “Allow”. Then we want to touch up the existing photos, so click on Markup Photos in the bottom right corner.
3. Then select the photo to which you want to add magnification. Once the photo is uploaded, click Draw in the editing tools below. By default, you will have the scribble tool selected in the drawing menu. Click the Zoom icon to enable the zoom function.
4. Then tap and slide your finger across the image to draw a magnifying circle. You can hold and move the circle or even resize it later to pinpoint the location.
Screen Master also allows you to place multiple magnifying circles on the image. You can also change the color and opacity of the magnifying ring. I found the defaults to be fair enough.
Determinants
On iOS, there are 2 colored dots on the zoom ring – blue and green. If you move the green dot around the circle, you can adjust the magnification level, and moving the blue dot increases the magnification level.
Unfortunately, Screen Master does not allow adjusting the zoom level. And, if you do not overlap several magnifying circles on top of each other, it will not increase the zoom. Moreover, you cannot change the shape of the magnifying area. By default, this is a circle and will remain the same.
Additional features
Screen Master is a versatile screenshot layout tool. You can use it to take screenshots instead of the default option on your Android. As for markups, it gives you the option to include arrows. You can also highlight a specific region using the spotlight feature.
It also has a mosaic option that allows you to blur sensitive areas of the image when uploading to social media.
