How to Make a Poll on YouTube Channel.

If you have more than 1,000 YouTube subscribers, you can ask your viewers questions using community posts or videos using YouTube cards. However, the option is hidden under the settings. Here’s a quick guide to creating YouTube polls.

Note. If you have 1000 subscribers but still can’t find the community option, you may need to enable it. To do this, click on your account icon and then “Your channel”. Select Customize Channel.

Requirements

  1. You must have more than 1000 subscribers.
  2. Your viewers must be logged into their YouTube account.
  3. You can add up to five poll options.

Take a survey using community posts

Computer

  • Sign in to your YouTube account.
  • At the top of the page, click on the “Upload” option and then on “Create Post”.
  • In the box click on the survey option and enter your question and then options.
  • Click Publish.

Android / iOS

  • Open the YouTube app and sign in.
  • Click the account icon and select My Channel.
  • Then Click the Community tab.
  • Click on the text box at the top and select the poll icon at the bottom.
  • Enter your question and parameters.
  • Click Publish.

Unfortunately, neither the YouTube mobile app nor the YouTube Studio app yet has the ability to add video tips. However, if you’re in a hurry and don’t have access to a computer, you can open YouTube in your mobile browser and switch to desktop mode to add hints. The interface won’t be perfect, but still doable in emergencies. Below are instructions for taking a survey using YouTube cards.

  • Login to your YouTube account, go to Video Manager.
  • Find the video you want to add cards to and select Edit.
  • From the tab bar at the top, select Maps.
  • Select Add Card and select a survey option.
  • Enter your question and parameters.
  • Click Create Map.

Note. You will be able to see the survey results in YouTube Analytics.

So, this is how you create a YouTube survey. These polls last forever, so if you want to delete them after a while, you can do so by going to the community post, find the poll you want to delete, click on the three vertical dots next to it and select the delete option. Likewise, to remove a survey from a video, click the card option in that specific video, next to the survey card, click Edit Card. Click the delete icon.
