How to Make Your Own Discord Music Bot

Posted on October 5, 2020 By No Comments on How to Make Your Own Discord Music Bot

In this guide, we will explain how you can create your own Discord music bot to play your favorite music across the entire server. If you follow this tutorial step by step, the whole process will usually be very simple and you will be in complete control of how things work for your particular server.

We’ll first explain what you need to make this work, and then we’ll go over how to set up the bot and how to set it up when it’s on your server.

Getting started – what you need for a music bot on discord

Before you can install the Discord music bot, you need to make sure you have the required permissions. Either you need to be the owner of the server or have administrator rights. If you do not have any of these rights, contact the existing owner. To see what permissions your Discord role has, click on Server Settings.

To do this, click the drop-down arrow next to the server name in the upper-left corner. Then in the window that opens, click “Server Settings”.

On the settings page on the left, click on Roles, and then on the right, find your role. It must be either the topmost role, which is essentially the server administrator role, or one of the others.

Click on your role and make sure Administrator is enabled. This will allow you to add bots to your Discord channel.

Now is the time to find a good music Discord bot. In this tutorial, we will be using Rythmbot. You can find the download page here

On the Rythmbot download page, click the Invite Rythm button. This will add Rythm to your server.

Next, you will need to select the server you want to join Rythm to. You may need to log into your Discord account in a browser before you are shown this option. If you have administrator rights on multiple servers, make sure you select the correct one.

After that, simply click “Authorize” and Rythm will be added to your server. Now it’s time to create a voice channel for the music bot. It can be a fun way to create a radio station or listen to music on social media, but you don’t need a music bot in the standard voice chat channel.

To do this, go back to Discord and click the + button under the voice channels section on the left side of the Discord window.

After that, choose a name for the server and make sure you select the Voice channel option. It’s time to get Rhythm to join the channel. To do this, first search for any song on the Internet. For example, visit Youtube and find a music track.

Then copy the url of that song, head back to Discord and enter! Play ‘youtubeurlhere’. Be sure to replace youtubeurlhere with the URL you want to play. Rythmbot will connect to the first voice channel and start playing. Then you can click and drag it to move it to your music channel.

If you want the music bot to go away, just enter! Disconnect and it will leave the current channel. If you want the bot to join the channel you are on, enter! Join.

There are many other commands that can be used with Rythmbot. For example, if you enter “! Lyrics song name ”, you can get the results for the words and paste them into the text feed.

You don’t even need to search for a specific URL for the song. In fact, you can just type! Play “song name” and the bot will find it and then add it to the play queue.

Discord robot does not play any music – help!

This is a common problem that many Discord music bot users are experiencing, but in general it is very easy to fix. First, if it doesn’t play any sounds, you may need to switch the server to a location closer to the bot. In my experience, switching to a US server helps.

How to Make Your Own Discord Music Bot

To do this, click the drop-down arrow next to your server name in the upper-left corner. Then click Server Settings. Then, under Browse Servers, select the server region option to change the server.

If that doesn’t work, make sure the Discord music bot is not disabled. Right click on the bot while it is in the voice channel, then make sure “user volume” is not zero. Also, make sure the Mute and Disable Server check boxes are not checked. Your parameters should match the image shown above.

If you still have problems, try typing! Disconnect in general chat and then type! Join to disconnect and reconnect the bot. Sometimes this can fix problems.

Finally, make sure you are actually connected to the server. You must be connected to a server to also hear music.

Finally, one more tip. If you want to make it so that only the bot can play sound on the channel in which it is located, you need to assign a unique role to the bot.

First, click the dropdown arrow next to your server name in the very top left corner. Then click Server Settings.

Click on Roles and then click on the small + button at the top. Name it something like Music Bot. Save your changes and close this page.

Then right click on Rythmbot and assign it the role of a music bot.

Finally, right-click a music channel and select Change Channel. Review each role and make sure none of the roles can use voice chat, but make sure that the music bot role can use voice chat.

For the Everyone role, this parameter must be set to the x icon, and for the Music Bot role, this parameter must be set.

Summary

Hope this guide to Discord Music Bots was helpful. If you have questions or need more help, please leave a comment and I’ll get back to you when I can.
