Recording a Zoom meeting for future reference is a better way to keep a recording of a meeting than to take notes. Meetings can be recorded locally to your computer or to Zoom cloud for licensed users.

How to view previous zoom recordings

Free and paid Zoom subscribers can locally record video and audio files from the recorded meeting. Zoom recordings are automatically saved to a folder on your computer after the meeting.

Additionally, you can upload recorded meetings to storage and streaming services for sharing. Please be aware that local recording is not supported on Android and iOS devices. To view local Zoom recordings in the Zoom client, follow these steps.

Please note that this process will not display local Zoom recordings from another computer, even for the same Zoom account.

  1. Sign in to the Zoom client, Meetings> Recorded

  1. Select the Zoom entry you want to view.

Available options:

– /

  • Play video file.
  • Play audio file only.
  • Open the folder where the recordings are stored.
  • Delete this entry from the Zoom client (it will still be stored on your computer).

By default, Zoom puts all Zoom recordings in a folder on your computer in the following locations:

  • Mac: / Users / Username / Documents / Zoom
  • PC: C: Users Username Documents Zoom

How to share local zoom recordings

Find the meeting video you want to share with those who have joined the meeting in the above locations on your computer. Upload it to a cloud storage like Dropbox or a streaming service like YouTube and share the link from there.

Or, if you cannot find the video file on your computer:

  1. Sign in to your Zoom account.
  2. View a list of your local Zoom recordings and their locations. your computer

  1. Check the meeting you want to share and click Export.

  2. Upload the mp4 meeting video file to cloud storage or streaming service and share the link from there

How to manage and access Cloud Zoom Recordings

Account owners and administrators can manage cloud Zoom recordings, including viewing, sharing and deleting audio, video, chat and transcript files.

Users can view, publish and delete their own records in the cloud.

To manage cloud recordings, you must have a Zoom premium account with cloud recording enabled. You must also have owner or administrator rights.

For Administrators

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. Click “Account Management” in the navigation menu> “Account Management”.
  3. Select a status and date range
  4. Search by appointment ID, subject, organizer or keyword

For Administrators

  1. Log in to the Zoom web portal
  2. Click Account Management from the Navigation menu> Manage Records
  3. Select case and date range
  4. Search by meeting ID, subject, host, or keyword

For Users:

  1. Log in to your Zoom web portal.
  2. Click Posts in the navigation menu.
  3. You will see a list of the cloud records you have created.
  4. Select a status and date range.
  5. Search by subject, keyword, organizer, or meeting ID.

For users:

  1. Log in to the Zoom web portal
  2. Click Recordings from the Navigation menu
  3. You’ll see List of cloud records you created
  4. Choose status and date range
  5. Search by topic, keyword, host, or meeting ID

  1. Choose “Account Management”> “Account Management” from the navigation menu.
  2. Find and click the Zoom entry you want to view.
  1. Change the name of the Zoom meeting by clicking the pencil icon.
  2. Click on the thumbnail to play the video in the browser.
  3. Download the Zoom recording to your computer
  4. Click Share to display the link to the recording.
  5. Set sharing options such as enabling or disabling downloads or prompting for a password.

  1. Click Account Management Manage Registration from the Navigation menu
  2. Select Location and click to record the magnification you want to view
  • Change the name of the Zoom meeting by clicking on the pencil icon
  • To play the video in your browser, click the button on the thumbnail
  • Download the Zoom recording to your computer
  • Click Share to show Sign Up
  • Set sharing options such as enabling or disabling downloads or requiring a password

    Set other sharing options, including:

    • Make the link public or private
    • Require viewers to enter a name and email address.
    • Allowing others to view part of the overall screen of a recorded meeting

    • You can also download the video file, copy the link to share it, or delete the file.

    For Cloud Zoom recordings that include conversations or audio recordings, you can also upload, copy or delete files using the same icons as above.

    How to export the list of cloud records

    Export a CSV file with details of your recorded cloud meetings, including meeting ID, meeting subject, organizer email, file size, start date and time.

    • Go to Account Management from Account Management in the navigation menu.
    • Select your search criteria.
    • Click Export.

    How to View Log Analytics in Cloud

    To view the page views and downloads for a Zoom cloud recording that you have shared internally or externally, follow these steps:

    1. Access Recording Management.
    2. Click the topic you want to open the preview
    3. Specify the date range from the drop-down menus at the top.
    4. Click Search.
    5. View filter information or summary for a cloud meeting by clicking one of the tabs

    You will see the following metrics:

    • The number of views on the Zoom recording page, not the number of replays or the number of unique views.
    • How many downloads, but not if the process was completed

    Password protect Cloud Zoom records

    Use password protection to control who can view or download your recorded meetings in the cloud.

    1. Access to manage records from account management in the navigation menu.
    2. Find the post you want to protect and click Share next to it

    1. Set the password protection switch to the “on” position.
    2. Enter your password and click Save.

    How to delete Cloud Zoom records

    If you wish, you can delete all of your Zoom entries, or just some of them based on whatever criteria you choose. The deleted files will be moved to the trash. They will remain in the trash for 30 days unless you manually delete them.

    Please note that any files in your recycle bin are not considered part of your allocated cloud storage.

    1. Go to Manage Records
    2. Click Delete All if you want to delete all Zoom records
    3. For certain records, change the date range and use the criteria search to select the files you want to delete.

    How to recover records from trash

    Did you accidentally move a Zoom entry to the trash and want to return it? No problem if it happens within 30 days.

    1. Check the meetings you want to restore.
    2. Click Restore at the top or next to the meeting to restore it.
