How to Play PS4 Games on iPhone and iPad.
Console games are great for exclusives like Spider-Man, Uncharted, RDR2, etc. The problem with console games is that you need to commit, get up to the console, turn it on, take the controller and a whole nine yards. Sony recently released their new app PS4 Remote Play which allows you to play PS4 on your iPhone. This is great news because it has been exclusive to the PSP so far. Now you can just grab your phone and start playing without even needing a TV. This is how you can play PS4 games on your iPhone and iPad.
PS4 Remote Play is essentially a streaming app that broadcasts live streams from your console to your iPhone. It displays all the controls on your smartphone screen, which turns your smartphone into a handheld game console like PSP. It worked surprisingly well during my testing, mainly because it streams footage over the LAN. There are a few steps to set up the app, and I’ll try to keep it as simple as possible. Let’s start.
Step 1: Find your PS4 ID
First, you need your PS4 ID first. You may already have a PS4 account if you have a PS4. Otherwise, you can create a new one online.
Open Settings on PS4, scroll down to “ Account Management â€and select to load the settings on the screen.
Scroll down to Account Information, select an option and navigate to Login ID. ‘.
Write down your email address somewhere, as we’ll need it later to sign in on our smartphone.
Step 2: Enable Remote Play on your PS4
Then you need to enable the remote play feature on your PS4 so that it can accept the connection request from your iPhone and establish a secure connection later. Open Settings on PS4, scroll down and select “ Remote Play Connection Settings”.
Find the Enable Remote Play option and check the box next to it. This option allows your iPhone to find your PS4 on the network and connect for streaming.
Step 3. Find your Wi-Fi network
For Remote Play to work properly, your PS4 and iPhone must be on the same Wi-Fi network. This is done on purpose because a LAN connection can provide a high-speed connection that the cellular network cannot connect to.
If you have multiple Wi-Fi in your home, it’s a good idea to know which Wi-Fi your PS4 is connected to. To check, go to Settings . Scroll down and select “ Network .”
Then select “ View connection status .” You will see your connected network next to “ SSID .”
Step 4. Set up PS4 Remote Play on iPhone
Now grab your iPhone and make sure it’s connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your PS4. Open “Settings” then “Wi-Fi” and make sure it’s connected. It’s also a good idea to have a faster internet connection.
Install “ PS4 Remote Play ” from the App Store. After downloading, open the application and click “Start”.
Here you can enter your PlayStation email address and password. Click Sign In.
As soon as you log in, the app will connect to your PS4. Even if you see an error message on your smartphone, restarting the app will fix it.
Once logged in, you will see a live preview of your PS4 screen, just like on a TV screen. The application will help you master the basic controls and teach you how to use all the functions, it is intuitive.
The app works great on iOS devices, but here’s the thing: it won’t be the same as playing games on a large screen. During the game, you will notice a lag if the game is intense. This can also happen if you are playing the game at ultra high settings. To keep your video streaming smooth, try playing the game at lower settings.
PS4 Remote Play is also available for Android and works great there, but for now it’s an exclusive app for Sony Flagships. You can follow the same steps and enjoy the games on your Android device.
Play PS4 games on iPhone and iPad
This is how you play your favorite PS4 games on your iPhone and iPad. You can play any game on your smartphone as it only streams live broadcasts to your phone. I would recommend starting easy, and once you get familiar with touch controls move on to games like Uncharted 4, Overwatch, Far Cry, Spider-Man, etc.
While you’re at it, you can also use Amazon’s Nimbus gaming tablet. It works with iPhone, iPad and Apple TV.
