How to Reset or Unfreeze an iPad or iPhone.
If you are using an iPhone or iPad, you most likely encountered a device freeze at some point. This is usually caused by the application taking up more memory than expected. The older your iPhone or iPad is, the more likely it is to freeze when using modern apps.
There are several ways to unfreeze an unresponsive device. If that fails, a hard reset will fix most of the problems on iPad or iPhone.
How to unfreeze an iPad
There are several ways to fix freeze problems on iPad. Whether the solution will work or not depends on what exactly caused it to hang.
If your iPad is low on power, it often slows down performance. If you use memory-intensive apps, it can cause your iPad to freeze. If your iPad is frozen, try connecting it to a power source first.
If you can’t connect your iPad to a power source, close any apps you can. Too many apps (or a few intensive apps) can slow down your device. If your iPad is using iOS 12 or later, you can close apps by double-tapping the Home button and swiping up from the bottom of the screen.
Keep an eye on any specific apps that are causing your iPad to freeze. If one app freezes more often than others, consider uninstalling and reinstalling it. The application data may be corrupted or there was a problem with the original installation that caused these problems. These problems are often resolved by reinstalling.

How to Reset iPad
If none of the above solutions solved the problem, you need to restart your iPad. There are two main ways you can do this, depending on your iPad model. There is also a difference between a “soft” reset and a “forced restart”.

As with the iPad, the first thing you should try to do is connect your phone to a power source. This often fixes problems caused by low battery levels. If that doesn’t work, try closing as many applications as possible. On modern iPhones, this can be done by swiping up from the bottom of the screen and holding until apps appear.
If this does not unfreeze your phone, the next step is to reboot or factory reset.
How to Reset iPhone

There are several ways to back up your information, and they work on both iPad and iPhone. The first (and easiest) option is to make an iCloud backup. But the most important thing to remember is scroll down and make sure iCloud Backup is set to On.
The next option is to back up your device using a computer. If you’re using a Mac, find your device in the Finder sidebar From here, go to the top of the Finder window and click General.
