There is no shortage of screen recorder apps for Android, but in a future version of Android, i.e. Android Q, you can record screen natively.

So, on March 13, 2019, Google launched its Android Q beta. If you are registered for the Android Beta program, you can get it via an OTA update. And if you’re not like me, well, you can always download and flash it on your Pixel. At first glance, there are not many changes, and the user interface is very similar to Android 9. But this is a beta version and everything will be better to come. We have a detailed article on what’s new in the Android Q beta. In this article, let’s take a look at how to embed screen recording in Android Q.

Now inline screen recording is a feature currently undergoing testing and disabled by default. But you can still enable it and record the screen right in Android Q.

1. First go to System Preferences. To do this, open the notification panel and click the gear icon. Alternatively, you can also go to the app drawer and click the gear icon to open system settings.

8. When you go to the Feature Flag parameters, you will see a list of variables. Go to “settings_screenrecord_long_press” and enable it. This is currently a test function and may contain bugs. So, you can expect random crashes. Luckily, I didn’t come across anything.
