How to See Blocked Numbers on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
Blocked numbers on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac can’t reach you on cellular/Facetime calls, text messages, and iMessage. If a blocked contact has an email address, the Mail app flags emails from the attached address.
If a friend says they can’t reach you by phone, text message, or FaceTime, you can view your blacklist. You know to make sure you don’t accidentally block them. Read on to learn how to see blocked numbers on iPhone, iPad, and Mac computers.
How to See Blocked Numbers on iPhone and iPad
Here are four ways to find blocked contacts in iOS and iPadOS.
Viewing blocked numbers in the phone settings menu
Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad and select Phone. Scroll down the menu and click Blocked Contacts.
On the page you will find a list of blocked contacts. Touch a contact to view its full details. You can also block a number on this page. Click “Add New” and select a contact from your contact list.
To remove a number from the list, click “Edit” in the upper right corner, click on the red minus sign and select “Unblock”. Click Done to save your changes.
Viewing blocked numbers in the message settings menu
Open Settings, select Messages and click Blocked Contacts under SMS/MMS. This will open your iPhone’s “blocked” list.
Viewing blocked contacts through the mail settings menu
Go to Settings > Mail and click Blocked to view addresses that are not receiving emails in your inbox.
Return to the Mail settings menu and tap Blocked Senders Options to customize how the Mail app handles emails from blocked contacts. If you enable the “Mark blocked sender” setting, the Mail app will flag/flag emails from a blocked contact.
Choose whether you want the Mail app to leave emails from blocked contacts in your inbox or automatically move them to the trash.
View blocked contacts in FaceTime settings
Your iPhone’s list of blocked contacts is available through the FaceTime settings menu. Open Settings, select FaceTime, scroll down and tap Blocked Contacts under Calls. You’ll find all the (blocked) contacts that can’t contact you via FaceTime audio and video calls.
How to See Blocked Numbers on Mac
Apple syncs your contacts with iCloud. If you block a number or email address on your iPhone or iPad, Apple will also block the number on your Mac—and vice versa.
Hence, you can access blocked contacts on your Apple devices as long as they use the same Apple ID.
View blocked contacts on Mac via FaceTime
Here’s how to check blocked contacts on a Mac laptop or desktop computer through the FaceTime menu.
Launch the FaceTime app, select FaceTime from the menu bar, and select Settings.
Tip: use the keyboard shortcut Command + comma (,) to open the preferences/application settings menu on macOS.
Click the Blocked tab to view a list of blocked phone numbers and email addresses. To unblock a contact, select a number or email address and click the minus icon in the bottom corner.
Tap the plus sign to add a contact to your blocked list.
View Blocked Contacts on Mac via Messages
The Messages app menu on macOS also has a store of blocked contacts.
Open the Messages app, select Messages from the menu bar, and select Settings.
Select iMessage.
Click the Blocked tab to view the phone numbers blocked from sending you text messages in iMessage. Click the plus or minus icon below the list to add or remove a number from the list.
View Blocked Contacts on Mac via Mail
Open the Mail app, select Mail from your Mac’s menu bar, and select Preferences.
Go to the Spam section and select the Blocked tab to view blocked phone numbers and email addresses. You can also customize how the Mail app handles emails from blocked contacts.
Who’s Blocked, Who’s Not?
Please note that blocked contacts will remain in your device’s contact list or phonebook even after blocking them. But they can’t contact you via iMessage, FaceTime, phone calls, and SMS/SMS. Conversely, you can call blocked contacts and send them emails or text messages, unless they have blocked you.
It’s worth noting that blocked phone numbers can reach you through third-party instant messaging apps like WhatsApp, Telegram, etc. Block contacts on these apps to prevent them from being shared
