The Modern Language Association (MLA) is an organization that provides recommendations for professional and academic writers. Many universities, employers and professional agencies now require writers to conform to the MLA style as it is easy to use and consistent.

The MLA Format Requirements

Here are the main recommendations of the MLA:

1- Use 1″ margins on all sides.

2- Use a legible font such as Times New Roman.

3- Use font size 12.

4- Use double spacing throughout the document.Indent at the beginning of a line. each paragraph Include a title that displays your last name and page numbers at the top right The first page should include your name, article information, and the date Your article title should be centered on the first page pages. There should be a Cited Works page at the end of the document with links to the MLA

Here’s how you can organize your Word document to meet MLA guidelines. We’ll go through each requirement in turn, so start at the top and work your way down.

1. Set margins

To set margins to 1 inch:

Click the Layout tab (in older versions of Word, this will be Page Layout).
