If you are a person like me who uses music a lot on YouTube and your friends share musical tastes. You can use the new Playlist Collaboration feature to share your public playlists and invite friends to add new songs to your playlists. The best part is that you don’t even need a YouTube premium account to use this feature. So here’s how to use YouTube Music’s collaborative playlist feature.

How to use the YouTube Music Collaborate playlist feature

Open YouTube Music and scroll down to the Playlist section, which shows all of your existing playlists that you like, as well as the files on your device. Now select and open the playlist of your choice.

How to Use YouTube Music Collaborate Playlist Feature

Click the pencil icon below the album cover. This section displays the title and also provides the option to add a description to the playlist. Below you will see a Privacy option that can be public (anyone can search and view), Not Listed (users need a link to view), and private (only visible to you).

Now click on the ‘Privacy’ option, which will bring up a dropdown menu and select ‘Public’.

How to Use YouTube Music Collaborate Playlist Feature

You will notice that the user signs up with the Collaborate option and they will be highlighted on the right. By clicking on this option, you can configure additional options within the collaborator, for example, you can enable or disable whether collaborators can add songs and videos.

On the same screen, you can also generate a playlist collaboration link that others use and add songs to the playlist. By clicking on the Share button, you can immediately send the link through any application. Finally, you can deactivate the link at any time with one tap.

Convert any of your personal playlists to a collaborative playlist Click on the three-line icon that is your library and click on playlists. Now select a playlist and click on the three-dot mark at the top of the playlist. Then just turn on “Do Collaboration”
