Amazon Prime is one of those incredibly useful features of Amazon that make it easy to keep buying items from their site. After buying products on Amazon for many years, I realized that I would instantly recoup $ 99.
Of everything I buy, 80% are ordered online and 80% are ordered from Amazon. The ability to get an item two days later for free, or the next day for just a few dollars has come in handy so often that it’s crazy.
However, until now, I thought that the only way for anyone in my family to reap the benefits is to order it through my account and then just send it to them.
Not a bad way to do it, but I still had to either pay for it myself or get their credit card details, which is kind of inconvenient. Fortunately, there is a way to share the benefits of Amazon Prime shipping with others for free.
According to Amazon, you can share the benefits with one adult and four children. Note that the adult you share your account with will be able to view your billing information. It used to be okay on Amazon if you shared your account with friends, but now they really only want you to share with the family you trust.
Share the benefits of Amazon Prime
To do this, log into your Amazon account and click on “Your Account” in the “Accounts & Lists” section.
Then click the big Prime button to view the benefits and payment settings.
At the top, you’ll see some summary information about your Prime membership, such as how long you have been a member and how many payments you’ve made.
You will also see the default one-click settings, etc. At the bottom, you can invite someone to share their shipping benefits. Click Share Your Prime Benefits to expand it.
Then click the Manage My Family link to add at least one more adult and up to four children.
To add a second adult, you need to enter their Amazon email address and password. If they don’t have an Amazon account, they’ll have to create one.
Once you add an adult, you can go ahead and add children. You will need to specify the gender and birthdays of each, and then you can control what they have access to. You can choose whether to publish apps / games, audiobooks, e-books, etc.
You can also tap Manage Content & Devices to control access to Prime Video, books, apps, music, and more.
