The Best Places To Find Custom Apple Watch Faces.
The Apple Watch is the epitome of wearable technology. It can make and receive phone calls, track your biometrics, work like Fitbit, and more. The latest Apple Watch models even work as a medical device to monitor your blood pressure and heart rate and alert your doctor if you’re in danger.
But for those who care about aesthetics, the device really shines with its many dial options. By default, you can choose from several Apple Watch faces, including Modular, Siri, Activity Digital, Breathe, Kaleidoscope, Vapor, Mickey Mouse, and Utility.

They are all well-designed and will suit just about everyone, but if you want to stand out, opt for the custom Apple Watch face. You can choose images from your photo gallery as backgrounds for your Apple Watch, but you cannot currently upload truly “custom” faces, but you can find awesome images to work as backgrounds and create your own face by adding “Complexities” »
Complication is a special feature that you can add to your watch face, such as a stock price ticker or information from another application. The ability to immediately choose what information you see allows you to make the watch face unique among others. The key is knowing where to look for the background.
Where to get complications for the custom Apple Watch face
Many third-party apps contain Complications that you can later add to your Apple Watch. For example, iTranslate comes with an add-on app that automatically detects the local language based on your GPS location and translates useful phrases throughout the day. You can simply click on “Difficulty” from there to enter full screen mode and say the phrase you need to translate.

It’s hard to find a complete list of third-party apps that add complexity. However, when an application presents a complication, it automatically appears on your list of possible choices. You can view the ones you have by launching the Watch app and clicking Difficulties under My Faces.

Watchmaker
WatchMaker
WatchMaker is an app that offers over 100,000 different watch faces and hands to choose from. It uses Live Photos to create animated faces for the Apple Watch, but notes from within the app that analog arrows, weather, and battery features are not supported by Apple.
What you need to know: The app is free to download, but during the installation process you will be prompted to subscribe to their premium service for $ 3.99 per week. A way to get around this is with a small X in the upper right corner.

The app provides access to quite a few free backgrounds and a watch face builder, but it is pushing its premium service extremely aggressively – so much so that it is almost impossible to use. While this is an option, if you want to explore all the possibilities for creating custom Apple watch faces, use them at your own risk.
faces
Faces is another app that gives you access to a wide variety of creative backgrounds. Like WatchMaker, it’s riddled with ads. There are dozens of categories to choose from, but the vast majority require you to sign up for a premium service to access your images. However, each category offers one to two free backgrounds.

The app works seamlessly, unlike apps like Facer.
- You launch it, select the desired image, and then click “Create watch face”.
- Ignore the ads and wait until you hit the “X” in the top left corner.
- Tap the clock icon on the screen, then choose Create Watch Face from the menu that appears. You can then choose between the Photos watch face and the Kaleidoscope watch face. You will be able to select a few other details, such as where you want to display the time and which difficulty fields you want to activate.
- Once done, just click “Add” and in a few seconds it will appear on your watch.
There are other apps worth considering, such as Watch Face and Facer. Every app we tested required a premium subscription. In truth, you don’t need an app to create your own Apple Watch face. Although “real†custom faces are not available due to restrictions set by Apple, you can choose a photo in your gallery as the background.
These photos can be downloaded from anywhere on the web. After you download and choose a background, select the complications you want to add. It will take a while, but you can create your own Apple Watch face without paying money to a third party developer.
The single best place to find a personalized Apple Watch face is Google. Perhaps browse Pinterest or Deviant Art to find a design you like. Save it, apply it to the watch and create your own face. It’s easier and faster than trying to work with a third party app.
