Tutorial: Use Spotify Outside US and UK (with Video).
Since you are reading this article, I am assuming that you have not used Spotify before. So first of all, what is Spotify?
So first of all, what is Spotify?
Well, these are online music streaming services available to residents of the US and some other countries. But what sets it apart from the rest is its sound quality, music recommendation algorithm, and a huge collection of playlists.
Spotify appears to be fighting over patents and licensing, which is why they are limited to the US and UK. While their team is making sure it will be available globally soon, it’s been over two years now. But still no progress. So, here’s a simple workaround to help you listen to Spotify outside of the US and UK.
Why is Spotify better?
Before Spotify, I used YouTube to listen to songs. But since I only want to hear, not see, using YouTube will result in a waste of bandwidth. Besides, the song recommendations there are not very complicated.
Spotify solves this problem; they have a huge collection of songs, better sound quality, great music recommendations, and most importantly, the music is organized according to mood, genre, playlist, etc.
Use Spotify in Restricted Countries
If you live outside the US or UK, the homepage says “Spotify is not available in your country.”
But the good news is that after launching the Spotify client, it doesn’t check the geographic location (that is, where you are using Spotify from). So if we somehow manage to do this on our computer, it’s okay.
To get past the country restriction, use a browser extension called (ProxMate) or any other VPN service you like. Follow the steps –
Step I
This extension is available for all major web browsers like Chrome Firefox and Opera. But if you are using Chrome, you need to
download this extension from their official website. (the site also explains how to install it)
After adding this extension, you will need to add the Spotify package. Click on the closest icon and at the top and select Install new package.
Step II
Now that you have ProxMate to bypass county restrictions, open spotify.com and download the program using your Facebook credentials.
Step III.
Install the program to your hard drive. (See screenshot below)
This is it. You have successfully installed Spotify on your computer. You can now uninstall ProxMate and use Spotify like any other music player.

Get Spotify on Android
Smartphones are now part of our body. And many users prefer to listen to music on a mobile phone rather than on a computer. Right? But since Spotify is not available outside of the US and some European countries, you will see the following error when you visit the Spotify product page on Google Play.
But again, you’ll be glad to know that there is an easy workaround to get Spotify installed on your Android. All you have to do is download the apk somehow and you’re done.
Follow the steps
Step 1.
Download Spotify apk from this website. Just paste the Spotify URL into Google Play and click on the “generate download link” option. After the apk download is complete, you will see the option “click here to download apk”. Click on it.
