Use Your Mi Band 3/2 To Control Music on Your Android

Use Your Mi Band 3/2 To Control Music on Your Android.

Your Mi Band is more than just a fitness tracker. We recently showed you how to unlock Windows PC with Mi Band 3/2. And as it turns out, you can also use it to control music from your phone without taking it out of your pocket. Or better yet, if you have a smart TV or Chromecast, you can skip songs on it using your MI Band.

The Mi Band is a Bluetooth enabled activity tracker that has a button that we’re going to use to our advantage. To get started, you need a Mi Band 2/3 and an Android phone. Sorry iPhone users.

To make this work, we will use a third-party Android application – Mi Band 2 function button , which will listen for a button press on the MI Band and, when pressed, transfer preset control to the specified applications. For example, if I want to change the music track on my phone, the app will listen to the Mi group and when I press a button on it, it sends the signal of the next track to the music player. Then the music player changes tracks. This works for most of the applications I’ve used, but I can’t say it’s reliable. It can sometimes be intermittent or delayed, but that doesn’t really matter.

First, we will download the Mi Band 2 functional button to your Android smartphone. You can click on the link to download it from the Play Store. It’s free. Even though the name says MI Band 2, it works great with the Mi Band 3 app. Then you need to pair the app with your Mi Band using the Bluetooth address. To find the Bluetooth address of your Mi Band, just go to the official Mi Fit app and tap the profile tab, select the Mi Band and scroll down and you will find the Bluetooth address there. Press and hold the Bluetooth address to copy it to the clipboard.

Then go back to the function button app, paste the Bluetooth address next to the Install button, and click Install. This should link your Mi Band to the Mi Band 2 Function button app.

Connect the Mi Band to the Function app by pressing the connect button and you are now ready to configure the functions. You can set functions for single, double and triple touch.

Before proceeding, I have to explain one small thing: Mi Band does not have a physical button, so the application cannot recognize double and triple presses, only one press will work for Mi Band 3. To use double and triple tap, press, you need Mi Band 2.

To make things easier, I’ll assign the next track to a single tap function.

Now select the applications with which you are going to use the Mi Band. I regularly use music from Google Play and YouTube and they work great with these apps. I have not tested this app for every app, so you will have to test it for your favorite apps.

Go to the music app or YouTube and start playing the playlist, and whenever you want to change the track, just press the button on the Mi Band and it will change the track in the music app.

There is one more thing you should know: the touch will only work if the screen on the Mi Band is off, if it is on, just wait a few seconds until it turns black and alto, you can now switch tracks from your Mi Band.

As with any other workaround, you cannot do everything with this method. It has some limitations: on Mi Band 3, you can only use the one-tap function, and you need to wait while the Mi Band is idle for the method to work. I think you can only milk a cow that much. In general, this method works and allows you to do something interesting with the Mi Band. Tell us what you are doing with your Mi Band in the comments below.
